Original Computer Generated Faces-300 Random Faces

Three hundred Caucasian faces were randomly generated using the Facegen Modeller program (http://facegen.com) Version 3.1. The exact procedures are described in Oosterhof and Todorov 2008.

278 undergraduate students rated the faces on 9 trait dimensions: attractiveness (n=35), likeability (n=32), trustworthiness (n=29), competence (n=44), extroversion (n=33), dominance (n=23), meanness (n=27), frightening (n=28), and threatening (n=27). The trait judgments were measured on 9-point scales, ranging from 1 (not at all [trait]) to 9 (extremely [trait]). The respective reliabilities (Cronbach’s alpha) were as follows: attractiveness (α=.91), likeability (α=.75), trustworthiness (α=.81), competence (α=.84), extroversion (α=.84), dominance (α=.92), meanness (α=.83), frightening (α=.84), and threatening (α=.87).
